TK's thoughts on cheating

Running this server stopped being “fun side project energy” a long time ago. At this point, it feels like half our time is spent babysitting people who can’t play the game without trying to cheat, exploit something, or sneak around like we won’t eventually catch them. And dealing with that crap isn’t just annoying — it’s exhausting.

Nobody on staff wakes up excited to jail somebody. Nobody’s thrilled to ban an account. It doesn’t make us feel powerful. It doesn’t give us some GM high. It just burns us out.

Every time someone decides they’re going to bot, or warp, or abuse trusts, or drop party in a BCNM to run some loophole, it drags us right back into the part of the game we absolutely hate dealing with. We end up pouring hours into fixing or investigating something that shouldn’t have happened in the first place, instead of doing… literally anything else.

And here’s the part players don’t seem to get:

This shit makes us want to delete the whole server.

Not as a bluff. Not as a punishment. Because it gets to a point where pulling the plug is honestly less stressful than watching people try to tear down everything we built.

We’ve all had moments where we seriously looked at each other and said, “Why are we doing this?” Every cheating incident chips away at the desire to keep the server running. Every exploit pushes us closer to logging off permanently. Every time someone hides something, or lies about what they’re doing, or acts like the rules don’t apply to them, it makes us wonder why we bother keeping the lights on at all.

Because here’s the truth: This is a hobby. It stopped being fun the moment players decided respecting the server was optional.

If you value this place, don’t cheat. If you actually want the server to continue existing, don’t put us in the position where “shut it all down” becomes the most appealing option on the table.

We’re happy to keep the server alive for the people who play clean and respect the work we put in, but the more we encounter people who can't play respectfully the more we move towards a complete shutdown.
