Crafting

Crafting is the process of creating items from various ingredients using a system called "Synthesis". The power of an elemental crystal is released into the ingredients to form a new item.

Crafting Overview

All crafting skills can be raised to 110 on Caldera via leveling and retail level breaks. They can be increased further via equipment, furniture, and synth support.

Alchemy, Bonecraft, Clothcraft, Goldsmithing, Leathercraft, Smithing, and Woodworking get a total of 118:
CP Gear/!shop 3 = +1/+1. Each craft has two pieces, a Body and either Head/Hands/Main Hand slot.
Crafting Torques = +2. Neck slot.
Moghancements = +1 for 1 skill at a time. Listed below.
Advanced Synthesis Support. +3. Specific NPCs at each guild will give an 8 minute buff for that craft.


Cooking has the same but adds in some katanas for a max of 124. Note, while it does say main hand only you get the bonus in either hand.
Hocho NIN level 57+ only, +3.
Debahocho ANY level 1 job, +2.
Debahocho 1 ANY level 1 job, +3.


Fishing is the oddball of the group.
Crafting Torques = +2. Neck slot.
Moghancements = +1 for 1 skill at a time. Listed below.
Advanced Synthesis Support. +3. Specific NPCs at each guild will give an 8 minute buff for that craft.
Fisherman's/Angler's Tunica set = +1 per piece. Body, Hands, Legs, and Feet. Max +4.
Waders 70,000 GP Item = +2. Legs only.
This means that you get Fishing maxed at 120 if you get the Torque (+2), the Moghancement (+1), the Synth Support (+3), and Set (+4).
If you choose to grind out the GP, you'd get Fishing maxed at 121 swapping out the Waders as a Legs slot.

Moghancements & Moglifications

What are these?
Both Moghancements & Moglifications are Active Effects that are listed under Key Items > Active Effects. Only 1 can exist at a time.
Moghancements give +1 to the craft skill.
Moglifications give +1 to the craft skill AND reduce the chance of losing materials when synthesis attempts fail.

Moghancements DO work, Moglifications DO NOT work.
What this means is that even if you combine the correct furniture, at most you will get the Moghancement: Skill.

Example with Fishing:
Fishing Hole Map by itself gives Moghancement: Fishing
The Big One by itself gives Moghancement: Fishing
Fisherman's Sign by itself gives Moghancement: Fishing

If you put all of them combined (or the correct combination per retail wikis), you still get Moghancement: Fishing.
These will be added when possible, but at the moment, other things take precedence.

The easiest way to get these are the Guild Points specific to the craft you want. Listed below are the cheapest GP items.
